One change in iOS 10 had a lot of people worked up. It wasn’t a massive change to the operating system, and it certainly didn’t make a big splash during Apple’s keynote, but it has fundamentally changed the way some people use their iPhone and iPads.
Apple changed the way we unlock our iPhones. As of iOS 10, you have to press the Home button to unlock your phone, where before you could just rest your finger tip on the Home Button to unlock it using the fingerprint scanner, or Swipe to Unlock via your passcode if you had an older iPad or iPhone.
It’s a small change, maybe, but when you have to retrain your fingers things can get frustrating.
Luckily it is easy to change it back to the way things were. To reactivate Rest Finger to Open, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Home Button, then tap Rest Finger to Open.
